I was slacking on inspiration this morning and decided to google “ideas for slice of life.” I found a cool idea for “I…” so I am giving it a try!

I keep rethinking a huge decision I made, but keep believing I did the right thing.

I wish I traveled more.

I dance often, but terribly.

I sing out loud all the time.

I think I am stronger than I ever thought I was.

I really should stay strong.

I need to start running again for my half marathon.

I can do anything I put my mind to.

I like to be around people even if it is doing nothing.

I always overthink.

This as a fun challenge that challenged me. It was hard to decide where to take the prompt, but overall I learned a lot about where my mind is!

  1. I love that this strategy worked for you and maybe it’s one that you can use in other ways. What if it wasn’t I and it was “You” or “She” would that change what you wrote, who you wrote about and how you wrote it?

  2. I especially like the last line, like a contrast to your poem that seems to flow effortlessly from one to the next, the “overthinking” is set apart from the simplicity of the rest of the poem.
